Our Hexagonal Lantern is a contemporary design by LFL. We have drawn on the twin characteristics of an original Lutyens lighting designs, namely geometry and passementerie.
The hexagonal frame of the lantern is constructed from Valchromat, a self-coloured wood substrate available in a wide variety of colours. Click on the link below to see the Valchromat colours that we offer.
It can be made with the frame and rim from the same colour or with the two separated to different colours.
The first of the two new lights was made from a mixture of light grey on the rim and dark grey on the frame. The client matched this with a lapis blue for the passementerie and emerald green for the cable.
The second was made from green Valchromat with bright gold passementerie.
All of our passementerie is made by hand by the wonderful Clare Hedges.
