Halo Lights

Exploring a similar idea to the Cardinal Hat lights, Lutyens also very frequently used this most simple of fixtures to great decorative effect.  Variations on the theme of a single glass “halo” with trios of beads either above, below or both above and below appear in many of his houses.  He also used on several occasions his favourite mercury ball combined with a halo, thus creating a fusion of elements for an extremely striking and unusual fitting.

We have also adapted the design to create a wall sconce with a silvered disc in front of the bulb.  This is an effective solution for where more than just pendant lighting is required.

The 400mm glass halos of the lights illustrated are hand blown, as are the trios of beads.  The glass is available in different shades and degrees of colour intensity.
