Drawing on ideas both from the Marshcourt Table and from the Circleback Chair, we have developed the Lutyens idiom to create this series of tables.
The circular version has a singular pedestal base in which six legs support a hexagonal structure, each panel containing the circle motive. As illustrated, the Walnut veneer is positioned in a radial 'sunburst' pattern that is continued through to the radial extension leaves. The diameter of this table is 1500mm / 5' without the extensions and seats 6. The extended top has a diameter of approx. 2300mm / 7' 6" and seats 10.
The oval extending version of the table sits on two pedestals and can take two or more leaves depending on the overall length required.
The occasional version sits on a smaller pedestal with a square base.
Both the latter tables are shown in burr Walnut veneer, though they are finished differently.
All three versions of the table are available in alternative timbers and the size of the tops can be made to the client's specifications.
