Munstead Expanding TableThis table is strongly influenced by a table designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for the kitchen in Castle Drogo. LFL's version attempts to
resolve the problem caused by interlocking stretchers that inhibit
seating in Lutyens's original piece. This is achieved by using a
cantilevered footrail. The result is a table which can seat sixteen
when fully extended with a length of 4250mm / 13' 10", and eight when
circular with a diameter of 2250mm / 7' 3".
The illustrated version of this table is made of oak and comprises two
'D ends', two side tables and two leaves. It may be constructed to
order with different variations and in different timbers. The footrail can emitted
