Marshcourt Dining Table
Pictured here in Marshcourt
house. This versatile table is made up
of 2 semi-circular D-ends that fit together
to form a circular dining table. The table
is extended by means of rectangular tables
that are slotted in between the D-ends. The
rectangular inserts can be used as side
tables when a smaller table is required or fitted
together to form independent rectangular dining
tables. The Tuscan column legs are very much
a Classical Lutyens motif and can be found elsewhere
in his work particularly in his designs for the
Viceroy's residence in New Delhi. The stretchers
form a perfect circle when the table is
in the round. The rectangular inserts feature
inverted semi-circular stretchers. The Marshcourt
Dining Table is available in any timber. The
table top has a thin marquetry band 60mm
/ 2" in
from the edge with a contrasting timber on either
side.
The table can be
made to three standard sizes. The 4 seater
has a diameter of 1300mm / 4' 3",
the 6 seater has a diameter of 1500mm
/ 5' and the 8 seater has a diameter of
1830mm / 6'.. Each rectangular insert
measures 750mm / 2' 5" in
width and the table can accommodate as
many or indeed as few as the client requires.
The height is 750mm / 2' 5".
The
Marshcourt Dining Table is also available to
order in rectangular or oval versions and can
be made non-extendable if required.
